About the Nidus Registry

Nidus is a BC registered charity since 1995

The Nidus Registry has been in operation and assisting British Columbians since 2002, and operated online in partnership with the Law Society of BC, Juricert Inc.

Your plans are only useful if they can be found when needed.

A Representation Agreement or Enduring Power of Attorney hidden away in a box can’t help you in an emergency. Use the online Nidus Registry to securely store copies of your legal plans and key health information in one secure place, available 24/7 in case of health crisis or other emergency.

Trusted by the people who need to find it: BC Health Authorities and the Public Guardian and Trustee use the Nidus Registry.

More than personal planning documents: Store copies of your will, medication charts, allergies, prescriptions, insurance policies, and more.

Kickstart conversations: Registering is a natural moment to talk with family about your wishes. You can share specific documents or your whole account with trusted individuals.

I’m not available 24 hours a day to help people find their documents, but the Registry is. I suggest my clients consider registering their Representation Agreements and other important documents as part of their personal planning.

One-Time Fees

$25.00 for the first registration (this includes creating your Registry Account)
$10.00 for each additional registration for the same Account

Security & Privacy

Stored in Canada: The Nidus Registry is hosted on servers in Canada, the only exception being audio and video files due to storage size.

You stay in control: You decide what to register and who can see it. Share one document or your whole account with someone by email, and cancel their access at any time.

Authorized access: Authorized Health Authorities, financial institutions and the Public Guardian and Trustee can view certain registrations if you allow. Views are tracked and auditable.

Protected and backed up: All access is over a secure, encrypted connection. The system is monitored regularly and backed up both on-site and off-site.

You can also securely store small audio or video files. This was created for personal belief statements that some people wanted to make at end-of-life. You can share this with others.
