What are the fees to register?
The fees for self-registration are:
- $25.00 for the first registration (this includes creating your Registry Account).
- $10.00 for each additional registration for the same Account.
These are one-time fees. Nidus does not charge annual fees.
There are no fees to view, edit or share registrations. (There is a fee for the Registrar to make corrections to the name of the Account Holder on the Registry Account.)
Registering a Personal Information Record requires immediate payment and is completed online. You can access and make changes to the Personal Information Record registration at any time for no charge.
Some other types of registrations (Other Documents, Video/Audio) allow you to replace an uploaded file for a registration at no charge. For example, you can register and upload a copy of your home insurance policy under Other Documents and replace the upload with a new policy at no charge.
If you purchased Custom Representation Agreement form (RA7 or RA9) from Nidus, you have pre-paid the registration fee and will receive a coupon code to use as payment when you register the completed Custom RA.
How Do I Pay?
You can pay registration fees online or by coupon code.
There is no fee to create your Registry Account. A fee is only charged when a registration is made. At the Account/Welcome page, scroll down to ‘Registration Options’ and select the type of registration.
Paying ONLINE is immediate. If you pay by cheque or e-Transfer, you need to wait for a coupon code before starting your registration as the system will not save any entries unless you pay.
———
- By credit card. Make sure the country says Canada (if that matches for your card) as it may default to the United States. You do NOT have to set up a PayPal account to use your credit card.
- By PayPal account.
To pay online by credit card or your PayPal account — select a document to register and you will come to the Payment page. Select PayPal. You will go to the secure PayPal site to make payment and then return to the Nidus Registry confirmation page. Click Return to My Account to view your registration.
———
To obtain a COUPON CODE by cheque or e-transfer, you need to let us know how many Registry Accounts you need to set up (spouses each need their own) and how many registrations. Then we can let you know the amount and where to send payment. When we receive payment, we will email you a coupon code to use when you register.
- By cheque. Email registry@nidus.ca to let us know you want to pay by cheque. Please note that regular mail takes some time. See above for details.
- By e-transfer. Find out if your financial institution allows this for your type of bank account. There may be a small fee to you for e-transfer. E-transfer lets you send payment from your personal bank account directly into the Nidus non-profit bank account. Email registry@nidus.ca to let us know you want to pay by e-transfer, see above for details we need to know.

Nidus does not provide refunds. Nidus may provide a credit toward a future registration.
Does Nidus Charge Fees for Other Registry Services?
The Nidus Registry is set up to be self-managed and most fields can be edited by the Registrant/Account Holder.
Some fields, however, cannot be edited to protect the integrity of the Registry system. Nidus charges a fee to cover staff time and other expenses related to these fields. For example, Nidus charges a modest fee to correct fields that cannot be edited by the Registrant/Account Holder such as the name of the Account Holder and names of appointees.
Fees will be determined by the Registrar based on the nature of the service required.
