Adult Guardianship/Committeeship in BC – fact sheet – Adult Guardianship or Committeeship happens in two ways – by court order and by legislation.

There are two types of court appointments: 1) committee of estate; and 2) committee of person. Click on the link above to learn more details about the effects of guardianship on adults and the Representation Agreement section 7 (RA7) as a legal alternative to adult guardianship in BC.

Guardianship of adults by legislation is also called public guardianship or statutory property guardianship.
